Progress is the new word in Waterloo these days.

This northeastern Iowa city, located on the banks of the picturesque Cedar River, is in the process of finishing up a complete facelift, transforming downtown into a brand new family adventure. Already famous for being one of the State’s foremost historic towns, Waterloo is introducing a number of redevelopment projects.

Downtown Waterloo has experienced an incredible renaissance in the past five years and will be a major focus for RAGBRAI activities. Hop on one of our many shuttles and relax in air conditioning while we transport you straight to the heart of Waterloo’s historic, riverfront business district. Live music, family activities and plenty of food and drink will be available both indoors and outdoors throughout the day. Traditional American and a variety of ethnic dining options, the Cultural Museum District and ample nightlife will give every RAGBRAI rider and attendee a way to experience the diverse landscape of Waterloo! Come for the afternoon, stay for dinner and party into the night knowing that our superb shuttle system will be waiting for you when you are ready to ride back to your home base until after 2 am.
