Family Reunion
Waterloo is a great place to re-connect! We have many family oriented attractions that will keep attendees happy for hours. Plus many adult venues for fun filled evening get -aways.
Many of the summer festivals and events held in the downtown area can add hours of live music and entertainment. The My Waterloo Days Festival, BBQ’Loo and Blues Too, Waterloo Fireworks Festival, the Iowa Irish Fest, and Friday’Loo.
Family friendly attractions include Lost Island Water Park, the largest outdoor water park in Iowa with eight major water slides, a lazy river, wave pool, three play areas for the “little ones”, four food & drink locations, & pavilions you can reserve for a gathering. Just outside the park is adventure golf & go-karts. The Phelps Youth Pavilion has 40 interactive exhibits for children and their families where they can spend a long afternoon. Exhibits include Grant’s Farm where they can drive a tractor and milk a cow; FunStage where they can become a creative performer with special lighting, sound equipment, costumes, and props to turn them into a performing arts star; to Art History Time Travel where they can climb into a time machine and take a trip to discover what like was like in another place and time. The Bluedorn Science Imaginarium in the Grout Museum District is a fun hands-on science center for kids of all ages. Three floors of science fun provide a playground for your imagination. Touch, see, and explore the wonders of science with the daily science demonstrations. We have five beautiful city golf courses with green fees under $20.00 where you can arrange a golf outing. Or have a group outing during a Waterloo Bucks Baseball game.
We have one state park, George Wyth State Park, and three county parks that have shelters you can reserve. One of the county parks, Hickory Hills, has an all season shelter and can accommodate 100people. Even our city parks have shelters that you can reserve too.
It’s time to re-connect and come to Waterloo!
