Who would guess that in Northeast Iowa one would find some of the finest and most unusual displays of artwork in the Midwest! Your tour begins at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, overlooking the Cedar River. The museum has the distinction of housing the largest public display of Haitian Art in the U.S. You will also enjoy works by Grant Wood and many others. Don't leave without visiting the Museum Gift Shop! Have lunch at the Art House Cafe or dine riverside outside of the art center. Get creative and design your own “work of art” in one of many work shops offered. Next is a visit to the Hearst Center for the Arts and Woodland Sculpture Garden in Cedar Falls. The Hearst Center features works by local & regional artists. The Sculpture Garden provides a lovely and tranquil natural setting to view a variety of sculpture.
