Agriculture Tours - Three Day Tour
DAY 1
Arrive in Waterloo at one of the area hotels. Have dinner at one of our local restaurants.
DAY 2
Tour the John Deere Tractor Assembly Plant, and see a tractor built from start to finish. Be sure to visit the John Deere Gift Shop before leaving. Tour the Grout Museum and visit the Engine of the Heartland exhibit. Have lunch at Bonanza Restaurant at Crossroads Center. From there, tour Hawkeye Farm where you can learn about farm production management through a working farm tour, demonstrations on how to manage crop planting, harvesting, and other processes. Arrive at Heritage Farm for a horse drawn wagon ride along the banks of Black Hawk Creek. Enjoy a home cooked meal and entertainment. They have Percheron horses and even let people plow with them.
DAY 3
Start with a tour of the Ice House Museum. Next, experience a guided tour of the Behrens Rapp Gas Station and The Little Red School House. For lunch, enjoy the Barn Happy. From There visit Antique Acres with its display farm equipment. Then Hansen Dairy Farm and see how milk and dairy products come to your table. Have dinner at Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon in their private banquet room.
