The Cedar Valley’s outstanding recreational trail system sets us apart from most other communities. Over 106 miles of hard-surfaced trails configured in a series of loops offers users a variety of experiences from peaceful wooded areas along our lakes and streams to attractions located in our vibrant downtown entertainment districts.

The Cedar Valley metro trails are also connected to the Cedar Rapids area via the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, the nation’s first rail trail. While sections of this trail are still closed due to 2008 floods, most of the 60 mile trail is usable and new bridges are currently under construction.

The Cedar Valley is also home to the state’s first water trail. Trails are highlighted on the map located at the center of this guide or can be ordered by calling the Visitors Bureaus. Metro area streets are also quite accessible on bicycle since Cedar Fall’s is a Bicycle Friendly Community.
