Iowa veterans have a million stories to tell—tales of heroism, adventure and sadly of trauma and death. For 150 years Iowa men and women have stepped forward to take an oath to preserve the union, safeguard democracy and defend against terrorism in times of war and peace. Iowans gave this service in numbers proportionately larger than most states and without the expectation
of fame or fortune, a tradition that continues today. The Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum honors all Iowans who served the
nation from the Civil War to the present. The collection, preservation and interpretation of their stories and artifacts are the core mission
of the museum. Hours: Tues–Sat 9–5.
