At the Museum's future site now stands a boxcar housing some of the future exhibits that will be included in the museum. Many of the African American community first moved to Iowa in a boxcar to work for the Illinois Central Railroad. The boxcar was also their first home in Waterloo. This museum will showcase the history and culture of the African American residents of Waterloo.

This hands-on science center makes learning scientific principles fun through interactive exhibits and formal demonstrations. Exhibits focus on light and electricity, momentum, liquids, gases and sound. Demonstrations daily. Open Tuesday - Saturday 9 am - 5 pm. Closed Sunday & Monday.
Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute & Museum

The museum offers a Teaching Center for youth clinics and artworks of wrestling through the ages. Also footage of Dan Gables winning the Gold at the 1972 Olympics. Open Monday - Friday 9 am-5 pm. Saturday by appointment only.

A treasure of the Cedar Falls Historical Society, the former family home of George Wyth showcases the Art Deco style of the 1920's. The third floor of the house is a small museum dedicated to the Viking Pump Company, co-founded by Wyth. Open 12-4 pm, May 1 - October 31
Grout Museum of History & Science

Nationally accredited, the Grout Museum features outstanding exhibits reflecting area history. It boasts Northeast Iowa's only planetarium. Planetarium programs are offered Saturday at 11 am, 1:30 pm, and 3 pm. Permanent exhibits include Pioneer Hall with five full-scale dioramas including blacksmith and carpenter shops, tool shed, log home, and mercantile store. The Museum also houses northeast Iowa's largest genealogical reference library. Tuesday - Saturday 9 am - 5 pm, closed Sunday and Monday.
Ice House Museum

This circular structure built in 1921, once housed a flourishing ice business and now displays ice harvest equipment and photos depicting ice farming operations. Early farming, homemaking, and business memorabilia are also displayed. Saturday and Sunday 2 - 4:30 pm May 1 - October 31. The Ice House Museum is closed because of the 2008 flooding.

This small jewel of mid-Victorian architecture is one of the oldest homes in Black Hawk County. Informative guided tours allow visitors to enjoy a beautiful Victorian interior, which features original Russell Family belongings. Hours vary. Please call ahead.
Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum

This new addition to the Grout Museum District honors all Iowan Veterans from the Civil War to the present. On display are military vehicles from each war or confrontation in which Iowa veterans served.
